We offer you the choice between AMD or Intel CPUs. By default the Media PC is configured to take a AMD CPU with a socket AM3 Motherboard. But if you select an Intel CPU in your Media PC we will fit a socket LGA1156 Motherboard with the same specification as the default socket AM3 AMD Motherboard.

Due to the price difference between these Motherboards we have added an additional charge of £15 in the price if the Intel i3, i5 & i7 CPUs to cover these costs.

DVD Optical Drive

The DVD Optical Drive is Capable of reading and playing back DVD & CD disks and also burn DVDs and CDs.

Blu-ray Optical Drive

The Blu-ray drive is capable of reading and playing back Blu-ray disks and also burn DVDs and CDs. Also includes a basic bundled copy of PowerDVD software for Blu-ray playback.

We only use the best Western Digital branded Mechanical Platter Hard Drives in our systems. The Green Power range features reduced power consumption and most important they operate Cool and Quiet while giving you the read write performance that you need for your Media PC.

Our silenced Hard Drive options also feature Western Digital branded Hard Drives. But for these we use the 2,5" Caviar Black & Blue range of Hard Drives.

We also offer Kingston Solid State Drives in our Media PCs. These are Flash Memory based Hard Drives, unlike the magnetic Platter based standard Hard Drives. These SSD HDD drives offer much faster read/write speeds to that of traditional Hard Drives. And the other benefit is that they are completely silent as there are no moving mechanical parts. These are ideally suited to use for the Operating System to improve the responsiveness and reduce Hard Drive noise of your Media PC.

Dual Freeview TV Card - (DVB-T)

This option gives you the option to record one channel while watching another. Or simply just record two channels at once. This option requires that you have areal equipment capable of receiving the Freeview signal.

Dual FreeSat TV Card - (DVB-S)

This option gives you the option to record one channel while watching another. Or simply just record two channels at once. This option requires that you have satellite equipment capable of receivingthe FreeSat signal. To receive two FreeSat channels you require a satellite dish with a dual LBN.

Sky Capture - (Hauppague MCE 150 PCI Card)

To connect Sky you'll need an analogue tv tuner card such as the Hauppauge MCE150 to handle the conversion to MPEG. You'll then need to connect the composite video and the stereo output  from the Sky box to the input on the MCE 150. Once you've done that you can get MCE to scan for services, it should find the signal on the composite input and you can then set the EPG to Sky.

You'll need to attach the IR Blaster that comes with the MCE remote to the front of your Sky box so MCE can change channels. To have Sky+ type functionality, record one channel while watching anoter you'll need two Sky boxes which means another Sky box and a Multi-Room subscription which duplicates your existing subscription to another box.

Each one of our systems come with on board graphics with HDMI, DVI and VGA connections for you to connect up to your displays. The on board graphics are more than capable of outputting full HD @ 1080p to any display it is connected too.

If you want some extra graphics power you can chose from the silent passively cooled ATI and Nvidia graphics cards. They also sport HDMI, DVI and VGA connectors.

Wi-fi is wireless networking - the ability to connect to a network or PC using radio signals (as opposed to network cabling). It's faster and has a greater range than Bluetooth, and is ideal for home or office connectivity. Using a wi-fi setup with your Media PC or laptop means that you can share a broadband Internet connection, swap files, or share a printer or storage area between computer users.

Wireless "G"

An IEEE standard for a wireless network that operates at 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with data rates up to 54Mbps.

Wireless "N"

The most current generation of Wi-Fi technology.  802.11n supports Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology devices, using multiple receivers and multiple transmitters in both the client and access point to achieve improved performance. Products desgnated as Wi-Fi CERTIFIED n can operate in either 2.4 or 5 GHz frequency bands, and are backward compatible with 802.11 a/b/g networks. 802.11n technology can deliver data rates up to 600 Mbps.
